With Halloween falling on a Monday this year, many Twin Falls trick-or-treaters will be looking to score candy all weekend long. Don't be surprised if your doorbell rings Saturday or Sunday evening, and if you don't want to participate in handing out candy prior to Monday night, don't forget to do one simple thing.

Halloween is Monday night. It sucks when October 31 falls on a weeknight. It usually means homeowners close up the candy shop earlier to prepare for another workday ahead. I see trick-or-treaters every year walk up to homes that have turned lights out and disconnected Halloween decorations. By now, everyone should know not to approach homes that aren't lit on Halloween night, and unfortunately, there is usually a lot of them.

When in doubt, the porch light is a good indication as to what kind of reception is waiting for you. No light means no candy.

There are several events taking place throughout the Magic Valley over the weekend to load up on candy just in case people aren't in the Halloween spirit on Monday. We have also compiled a list of the best neighborhoods to seek candy in Twin Falls. I'd also advise against approaching someone's front door after 9 P.M. on Halloween night.

Trick or Treat on Bish's Street is a great opportunity to score a massive amount of candy. It's Halloween day, from 3 to 6 P.M., at their Jerome location at 551 Arlen Drive. Look for the decorated RVs and travel trailers, and listen for the Halloween music.

Happy Halloween Southern Idaho!
