A second sibling and victim of a terrible southern Idaho natural disaster is well on the road to recovery and is expected to be discharged from an area hospital in the coming days.

A powerful windstorm tore through southern Idaho on December 17 and caused widespread damage as well as injuries to numerous area residents, including a local brother and sister who were waiting for a school bus when a tree fell on them, causing major injuries to both children.

We first shared details of the accident shortly after emergency crews responded to 3400 N and 3100 E in Twin Falls County. The Twin Falls Sheriff's Office shared photographs of the damage to its Meta page.

A GoFundMe page has raised over $68,000 to date to help the family cover medical expenses. Area businesses like Papa John's also stepped up big time to help the family following the terrible accident. The restaurant donated 100 percent of proceeds from their December 30, 2025, business day to the family, according to KMVT.

We are very happy to hear the news that both kids are recovering from this tragic incident.
