Watch Jon Bon Jovi Try to Keep It Together During an All-Star ‘Wanted Dead or Alive’ Singalong
Jon Bon Jovi took the stage with a very special group of backup screamers -- er, singers -- at Comedy Central's Night of Too Many Stars. Will Forte, Gilbert Gottfried, Al Roker and Triumph the Insult Comic Dog hilariously dismantled "Wanted Dead or Alive." You can watch the clip above.
Night of Too Many Stars, which was held at a sold-out Beacon Theatre in New York City, was hosted by Jon Stewart, and has raised more than $18 million for autism education and support programs since 2003. The best part of the above performance? Watching Bon Jovi try to maintain a straight face as Gottfried randomly brays and Forte appears to be texting a friend.
"Wanted Dead or Alive" has been a staple of the Bon Jovi set list since becoming the third Top 10 hit single from 1986's Slippery When Wet. Jon Bon Jovi, during a 2008 performance in Detroit, said the song was inspired by Bob Seger: He had heard "Turn the Page" while traveling by tour bus to the first Farm Aid and decided that his band needed an anthem.
Robert Smigel, a Saturday Night Live alum and the guy behind Triumph, created the Night of Too Many Stars after his son was diagnosed with autism. Comedians Chris Rock, Steve Carell, Sarah Silverman, John Oliver, Paul Rudd and Amy Schumer were also on hand for the event, which was filmed on Feb. 28 and aired last night on Comedy Central.
