Most Americans Will Not Waste Their Tax Refund

I did my taxes the other day. At first I was excited to see that I would be getting some money back...then I realized that the money would be gone long before I got to enjoy it! We have had two ER visits in the last few weeks, so who knows what will be covered by insurance and what will come from my pocket. We also of course have 4 kids who eat money like it is breakfast cereal. There are a few people in the world though who do get a refund and use it in a fun way. The average federal refund this year will be $2,803. 30% of people will use it on everyday expenses, 23% will go on a vacation, 16% will buy clothes and shoes, and 15% will buy electronics.
