Which City is the Most Dangerous in Washington, Idaho, and Utah

The crunching of numbers has happened to determine the most dangerous cities across the United States, and it really isn’t good news for the eastern states.

Only three of the states with cities that made the list of the ‘25 most dangerous’ are on the west side of the US.

Those three states are Colorado, California, and Washington, and that is great news for Utah and Idaho. That doesn’t mean there aren’t any dangerous cities in Utah or Idaho; it just means that the other states are worse.

Even worse than being on the list of the most dangerous cities is the fact that the study says these are the most dangerous cities in 2025 and 2026. So they are just counting on the cities staying dangerous for another year.

Tacoma, Washington Named One of 2025's Most Dangerous Cities

When it comes to Washington state on the list from US News, they list Tacoma as the 14th most dangerous city in the US. Tacoma is on the far west side of the state, so maybe now would be a good time for Spokane and the rest of eastern Washington to join Oregon in the ‘Greater Idaho’ movement to distance itself from the dangers of Tacoma.

What makes Tacoma so dangerous? The website could blame Hilltop, Oakland, or Eastside, but lists high rates of violent and property crimes as the determining factor for the ranking.

Oakland California and Pueblo, Colorado were the other cities in western states that made the list. These cities didn't make the national list but Salt Lake City in Utah and Garden City in Idaho are the most dangerous cities in those states.

If the numbers and crime data don’t scare you, Tacoma does have a lot of beauty and great activities to do.
