LEWISTON, Idaho (AP) — A homeless man was arrested on suspicion of robbing a man in Lewiston and trying to lock the victim in the trunk of his car. The Lewiston Tribune reports 30-year-old Danny Faulkner was arrested at about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday. Court records show he faces robbery and second-degree kidnapping charges.

Lewiston Police Capt. Roger Lanier says 19-year-old Grant Jackson of Clarkston, Wash., told officers he was driving when someone with what appeared to be a gun stepped in front of his car and told him to unlock the door, got in the car and told him to drive to Memorial Bridge.

Investigators say Fulkner then threatened Jackson with a lug wrench, made him give up his wallet and car keys and forced him into the trunk. Jackson used the trunk's emergency release to escape.
