Open House Planned for Kimberly Interchange Project

KIMBERLY, Idaho (KLIX) – It’s a few years out, but come 2024 the Idaho Transportation Department plans to rebuild the interchange at Interstate 84 and State Highway 50.

In preparation for the project, ITD is now seeking public input on several design options.

The department is planning an open house where attendees will be able to meet and ask questions of project team members and learn more about the proposed designs.

“The interchange is a key agricultural and industrial route for accessing the Magic Valley along ID-50,” ITD explained in a statement. “As the area grows and more commercial and residential development occurs, the interchange will become even more critical to the safe movement of people and goods.”

The department said improvements will help maintain safety, improve mobility, and foster continued economic development in the area.

The public open house is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 15 at Rock Creek Fire Department, 1159 Main St. N., Kimberly.
