Rest Easy, US Testing World’s Most Powerful Nukes in Nevada Right Now
No, the United States has not detonated a nuclear weapon in Nevada this week (that we know of). But, they are testing the bombs that carry the bombs that carry those nukes.
RT is reporting that our military successfully tested the B61-12 gravity bombs. I made the mistake of looking up exactly what the B61-12 is capable of. I can sum it up in two words: BIG BOOM.
If you check the Wikipedia page, the advocates for this nuke claim it would be more accurate and have less fallout. Right.
Here's one way to understand the power of this nuke. If the B61-12 were dropped on Twin Falls with a surface detonation, it would look like this according to Nuclear Secrecy's website.
According to estimates, over 30,000 people would die immediately with another 14,000 being injured (and probably glowing in the dark).
RT says that the bomb test was successful (good news) and that the nuclear part of the bomb was not tested (better news).
Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go buy some MRE's and bottled water.
