See Broncos Play Live in Person at Albertson’s Boise Stadium Again
Dreams do come true! I was literally JUST posting about how I literally crave seeing a live game again and now it may become a very real realty for me ant 1099 other lucky Boise State fans. The health department is currently in a meeting and one of the big things on the agenda is discussing the university's proposal to allow at least some fans into the stands. After all it is outside and there is PLEANTY of room to socially distance and spread out. They just wont be able to sell out or fill the seats. For goodness sake, let SOME fans in!
According to KTVB Boise State University has been working on a plan that would at least allow the players to have immediate family members into Albertsons Stadium on Friday when the No. 21 Broncos take on No. 9 BYU. From the beginning no fans have been allowed to go to any Boise State games, hopefully something to change soon. On Tuesday the university officially file a petition with Central District Health to convince them to allow, based on a thought out plan to have fans attend live games again.
There are 37,000 seats all together in Albertsons Stadium. The petition is to allow 1,100 fans inside and only AFTER they test negative for the vid within 72 hours before the game starts. They would still have to maintain being socially distant from each other too but with that kind of size it is very possible.
If approved, Broncos football team members can request two tickets for family members, or three if they are married. Only parents, siblings, grandparents and spouses are able to use those guest tickets. Some other Boise State students may also be able to attend. The University are -brilliantly- creating a lottery to choose some students that will get to attend the game. The band and spirit squad will also be allowed after screening.
The (2-0, 2-0) No. 21 Broncos take on the (7-0) No. 9 BYU Cougars at 7:45 p.m. MT Friday on The Blue. The game will be televised on Fox Sports 1.
