BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Military records show a 19-year-old Idaho airman who the U.S. Air Force says shot herself on a Pacific island base was stripped of her revolver and relieved from duty due to mental health concerns, but had her weapons privileges restored one month before her death.

Airman 1st Class Kelsey Sue Anderson of Orofino died June 9, 2011, at Andersen Air Force Base on Guam. Her parents, Chris and Adelia Sue Anderson, filed a federal lawsuit this year to force the Air Force to turn over investigation documents.

Hundreds of pages from military investigators released to The Associated Press Thursday indicate Kelsey Anderson was deeply unhappy as a security guard almost from her arrival on Guam in February 2011 and sought to be reassigned — or allowed to quit the military.
