The Steve Miller Band has released a live album commemorating the 40th anniversary of 'The Joker.'

The classic-rock package tour has become something of an annual tradition over the past few summers, and it looks set to continue in 2014, when Journey and the Steve Miller Band will hit the road together for a lengthy series of dates.

Purple Pyramid's ongoing series of tribute records has offered new re-recordings of hits by a growing list of artists that includes Genesis and Yes. The latest offering pays tribute to the Steve Miller Band.

Between the years 1968 and 1970, the Steve Miller Band released five albums that put them on the classic rock map. The group will reissue those five albums — with some help from Edsel Records — this coming Oct. 8 as digitally remastered special digipak editions.

Rev up that big ol’ jet airliner — the Steve Miller Band are back on the road. The tour, which will take the group through 10 countries in seven months, kicks off May 20th at the Doheny Blues Festival in California and winds down in Vienna, Austria on November 4th.
