Main Street in downtown Twin now look bare without the trees that have occupied the street for years. 163 trees were cut down over the weekend. The trees will be replaced this fall.

The trees were cut down because they had began pushing the sidewalks up. This made the sidewalks dangerous for pedestrians. See the full tree clearing details.

Currently the city of Twin Falls is leaving each tree with a 3 foot stump. The stump will make it easier to remove the tree root systems when the trees are replaced in the fall.

The trees will be missed this spring and summer by many downtown business owners and customers.
