TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) A Magic Valley education and doctor have been recognized as some of the best volunteers in Idaho.

The Idaho Department of Labor says Julie Richardson, of Oakley, and Dr. David McClusky, of Twin Falls, have been awarded at the Idaho's Brightest Stars award ceremony on Wednesday. In total 74 volunteers from all around the state were recognized as stars by Lt. Gov. Brad Little.

Volunteerism is a gift that benefits citizens and addresses needs in communities throughout our state,” said Lt. Gov. Brad Little. “These men and women are not seeking recognition, but it is important to acknowledge these Brightest Star recipients and their generous commitment to giving to others and ensuring a bright future for all citizens.”

Volunteers were nominated by fellow Idahoans to seven categories with Richardson winning the teacher/professor, and Dr. McClusky getting the senior award.
