The ‘Justice League’ Gets Colorful in These New Character Posters
Someday, someone smarter than me — or at least better than me in Photoshop — will create a visual scale of the various Justice League posters, trailers, and images released over the past two years. This scale would also include key moments in the evolution of the DC Cinematic Universe, including the triumphant release of Wonder Woman earlier this year and the announcement that Joss Whedon would be taking over for Zack Snyder in post-production on the film. My guess? This progression of photos will show a clear and marked lightening of the Justice League images, serving as a nice parallel to the shifting conversation around the property itself.
Rumor Has It Daniel Craig (and Adele!) Have Agreed to Return for ‘Bond 25’
If we’re lucky, every few years we’re treated to a will-they-or-won’t-they love story that sparks our imagination and warms our hearts. Ross and Rachel from Friends. Jim and Pam from The Office. Daniel and Barbara from Bond 25. Yes, these are classic, iconic love stories, where two people who are destined to be together must nevertheless fight through a series of unfortunate events before going public with their mutual love and affection. Which is all a complicated and jokey way of saying, c’mon, Daniel Craig and Barbara Broccoli, we know y’all are going to make Bond 25 happen, so just do it already!
Bill Paxton, Star of ‘Aliens’ and ‘Twister,’ Passes Away at 61
As a teenager in the ’90s, no actor better represented blockbuster movies than Bill Paxton. Although Paxton wasn’t typically a leading man in those movies — he would often play the brother, the second-in-command, or the comic relief — he served as a kind of talisman of quality. If you saw Paxton’s name in the opening credits of a movie, you knew that the film was going to be better for it.
Watch Robert Downey Jr. and Guests Answer Your ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Questions
There may never be a Hollywood talker like Robert Downey, Jr. Even in his fifties, the actor possesses a nervous energy and patter that makes him seem like the youngest man in the room, barraging his co-stars and audiences alike with a flurry of self-deprecating jokes and unbridled enthusiasm for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. His success as Tony Stark is synonymous with the success of the Marvel movies as a whole; while it’s technically possible to picture an Avengers movie without Downey, Jr. in the mix, there’s no denying it would probably be a whole lot less fun.
‘Star Wars’ Actor Kenny Baker Passes Away at Age 81
Sad news today for fans of the Star Wars films and Terry Gilliam’s Time Bandits: Kenny Baker, the man who brought droid R2-D2 to life, has passed away at the age of 81. According to The Guardian, Baker’s passing comes after a long battle with an unspecified illness.
The Comic-Con ‘Suicide Squad’ Soundtrack Remix Is the Best ‘Suicide Squad’ Trailer Yet
By now, you’ve probably decided to go in one of two different directions. Either you are steadfastly refusing to watch any additional Suicide Squad footage — having made your mind up ages ago to see the film and hoping not to ruin major moments in the film any more than you already have — or you’ve decided, screw it, and are gorging yourself on the many, many photos and character clips that Warner Bros. has prepared for us. If you’re part of the first group, then I’m sorry to say that the best Suicide Squad video just dropped and you’re probably not going to get to see it.
First ‘King Arthur: Legend of the Sword’ Trailer Gives Us Medieval GoPro Action
With only a scant few publicity photos to go off of, this first trailer for Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur: Legend of the Sword represents our first real look at universe that Ritchie and his cast are creating. And if there is a recipe for the film, it seems to be this: take the legend of King Arthur, overlay it with Ritchie’s signature kinetic energetic fight sequences and street-smart humor, and cast every beloved character actor from Game of Thrones you can get your hand on. Movies have done far worse with a whole lot better.
