Even though the students and faculty are in their last few weeks of school this semester, they are still planning many great activities and events. Here is what is happening this week at the CSI campus.

  1. The big CSI Car Show is this weekend! More than 100 cars, trucks, street rods, custom built vehicles, and more will be at the CSI Expo Center from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for seniors, and $2 for kids 6-12. There will be lots of food for sale at the show and all proceeds go to the CSI Auto Body and Auto Service students who are putting on the show. (More info if you need it - For many years, this used to be the Magic Valley Early Iron Car Show until CSI students took it over about four years ago.)
  2. The CSI Theater Department is doing its latest play, ‘Collective Dating.’ This is a series of skits that will appeal to everyone, whether you’re dating now or looking back and being glad you’re out of that scene! Speed dating, Internet dating, blind dating, and even Prehistoric Dating will be portrayed! 7:30 each Wednesday through Saturday through May 5th at the Fine Arts Theater. $8 for adults and $6 for students.
  3. Saturday is International Astronomy Day at the Herrett Center. Lots of free events for the whole family from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. including make-and-take activities – build your own water bottle rocket and launch it – solar viewing – and nighttime sky viewing.
  4. The Faulkner Planetarium will premiere its new show this Saturday called ‘When Venus Transits the Sun.’ That’s something that will actually happen on June 5th. The last time it happened was in 1882 and the next time will be in 2117. This is when the path of the planet Venus takes it right across the sun. The Faulkner show can be seen at 2:00, 3:00, and 7:00 this Saturday.
