The Academy Awards are just a few weeks away. The buzz in the industry is that the best actor award will most likely go to a familiar man who is making a motion picture comeback in a film where he's portraying a young, heavy-set man growing up gay in Idaho.

More than 80 years ago, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) released a film loosely based on a French and Indian War novel that was later nominated for an Academy Award (1941) in the cinematography category, which was thanks to Idaho.

We are 1 month into 2012 and just a few days into the Year Of The Dragon. But Award Show season is in full swing! Yesterday the nominations for the Oscars were announced and the big movie is Hugo with 11 nominations and the Artist in a close 2nd with 10 nominations. For the most part this years Academy Awards was pretty lame - not bad just lame.  There weren't any really original ideas or funny presentations...it was just a regular awards show.  You know what would have been sweet though? If Oprah had come out and said something awesome and Oprahish like "Audience - you are all going to Australia!!!!"
