If you've checked your Facebook feed lately, chances are you've seen a friend, coworker, acquaintance or former middle school teacher sharing a "new" inspirational Bill Watterson cartoon. Except, it's not actually by the reclusive artist behind the beloved 'Calvin and Hobbes' comic strip.

We know art comes in all sorts of forms, from the grumpy to the banana variety. But something we don't see all-that-often is the kind that uses your own fingers as the canvas.

An artist on Tumblr has given all your favorite Disney characters old-school video game makeovers.

Etch-A-Sketches are one of those childhood toys that never go out of style. If you're like most people, a few hours' worth of entertainment usually produced some pretty bad art, although it never really mattered. But there are the select few who are really good at Etch-A-Sketching. Like, really really good.

The great thing about art is that we can express ourselves in endless ways. Feeling inspired by Grumpy Cat? Paint a detailed portrait of Tardar Sauce-- we won't judge. Or maybe 'Star Wars' gets you all jazzed. Heck, make a Lego scene to reflect those feelings! It's all fun in our books, and we're especially fans of the offbeat type of art, like that of the banana variety.

Let's imagine you're ordering a pizza online. Before clicking "order," have you ever noticed that small area where you can write comments or additional directions? As far as we're concerned, this feature is highly underused, because this is where pizza box art is born.

Oh no, the Egyptians are going to be maaaaad...

Anything goes when it comes to art, particularly on the internet. Feel like constructing an ode to Grumpy Cat? Knock yourself out. What about a collection of Disney/Star Wars mashups? That, my friends, is also possible.

If there were still any questions that video games are "art," it seems the Smithsonian has answered them. The nation's most respected art institution has actually listed 80 games that they consider to be art and featured the games in an exhibition that covers 40 years of video gaming. I now have four kids, and the creative masterpieces adorning the fridge and overflowing the drawers is already becoming too much!  Some of the art is great or cute but a lot of it is...well, good practice for the kids :)
