October is adopt a shelter dog month so all dog adoptions are $10 off! Dixie is a 4 month old female spayed Corgi/Australian shepherd cross.  She is very sweet and friendly and ready to steal your heart.

Dodger is a 10 month old male Hereford-Dor retriever. He is housebroken, good with other dogs and cats and loves kids! He is a sweet and wiggly boy and is the perfect dog for any house!

The kids are back in school for the fall and it seems school is in session at the Animal Shelter too as they receive new cats and dogs each day! This week Marilyn (named after Marilyn Monroe) is the adoptable KOOL Kritter. She is 3-4 months old and very loving! Remember all black haired cats and dogs are half price on Fridays!

She isn't Sandra Bullock - but she is a star! Miss Congeniality is a Border Collie/Lab cross at the Twin Falls Animal Shelter and she loves everyone.

One man has trained his dog to hate kisses or affection. Sure, it's cute, but they've spent so much time together, and Owner was totally there for Dog that time he ate the Chunky bar -- he even took him to the doctor and washed the puke out of his hair...

I'm not sure if this is a good thing for men or a bad thing. A new study has revealed that most women do believe in love at first sight but only when it come to picking out a pet. In fact they are 3 times more likely to have felt love at first sight with a dog than with their current husband or boyfriend.

There are always a bunch of cats and dogs of all shapes, sizes, and breeds at the Animal Shelter, and this week we are spotlighting one of each. Yoshi and Scooter are amazing animals in need of loving homes.

Pit Bulls as a breed get a pretty bad wrap...that they are vicious fighters, and they relentlessly attack anything that moves. That isn't a true painting of what a pit bull is. Most pit bulls are kind, gentle, and loyal to people. Finding one that gets along well with other dogs and cats is just a plus. And that is exactly what you get with Blaze.

I am not sure why we continue to do this to our animals...actually I do - because they are so cute in their misery! Sure the cat may not like wearing a Santa hat and Fido may not like the reindeer antlers, but for us they'll wear them one more day. Enjoy the slideshow after the jump.

The KOOL Kritter this week is a senior citizen...Dizzy is an 8 year old Shepherd cross and an amazing dog! The great thing about older dogs is that their energy level is much easier to have around, they make great walking companions but don't need to go for a 10 mile run every day.
