Closed fire season in Idaho begins tomorrow requiring permits to burn. The Idaho Department of Lands says citizens will need to get fire safety burn permits starting May 10 and going to October 20.
It is spring and smoke is in the air, no not from wildfires, but from seasonal burning. The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality has sent out a reminder and tips on burning things such as yard waste and fields.
UPDATE: Cassia authorities reportedly found the pickup, but no arrests have been made. Cassia County authorities have shared an image of a suspect vehicle after a fire destroyed a building and a pipe bomb was found nearby Monday morning. The Cassia County Sheriff's Office shared surveillance images of a white, small, extended cab pickup with a camper shell on the back.
Emergency crews are on scene of a fire in the downtown area of Burley this morning. According to the Cassia County Sheriff's Office, the emergency crews responded at just before 2 a.m.
Fire crews responded to the 2500 block of Carriage Way Sunday afternoon for a house fire.
Battalion Chief Mitchell Brooks said he arrived on scene first and the fire was mostly coming from the east side of the garage.
