Remember to pack your rockhounding supplies and plenty of water. The region is made up of mostly desert landscapes, and the summer months can be brutal without shade in southern Idaho.
My opinion on the matter is that there are too many amazing, natural sites outdoors in southern Idaho that are legal to enjoy and aren't a safety concern, so I'd rather not risk a trespassing citation.
This region of the state is just two hours northwest of Twin Falls, and there are several areas to pull off with a travel trailer and boondock for the night if you want to make a weekend of it. Make sure to bring plenty of gasoline for the ATV, because there is an impressive amount of great trails in the area.

More than 60 trees came down in my county between Monday and Tuesday, making teleworking, mail delivery, and other aspects of daily life impossible to pull off.
