Idaho isn’t known for pizza unless you count the pizzas where they put sliced potatoes on them. That doesn’t mean we don’t have great pizza options in the Gem State, but we also have some poor choices.

In fact, the worst pizza chain in the entire United States has one restaurant location in Idaho.

It is pretty hard to mess up pizza. You only have 3 essentials: crust, sauce, and cheese. The rest (toppings) is extra. But with those three simple items, a lot can go wrong. A gummy crust or a sauce that’s too sweet and cheese that doesn’t melt right will ruin a pie. One pizza chain does all the wrong just right, according to a list from 24/7 Wall St.

The top 5 worst pizza chains include Domino’s, Papa Murphy’s, Little Caesars, and CiCi’s (no locations in Idaho) in that order. The top spot, or bottom depending on how you want to look at it, goes to the top choice for children and parties - Chuck E. Cheese.

24/7 Wall St. referred to pizza reviews from five distinct food blogs and websites. Given the subjective nature of pizza preferences, their selection criteria focused on pizza chains consistently ranked at the lower end on multiple platforms.

Reviewers exhibited diverse opinions in discussions about pizza.

Agreement on the best pizza chains was scarce, with only a handful receiving high praise from individual reviewers, such as Mellow Mushroom, Jet’s, California Pizza Kitchen, and MOD.

Chains with mixed reviews included Pizza Hut, Papa John’s, Donato’s, and Marco’s. While individual reviewers held differing perspectives on these chains, the overall evaluation resulted in fairly average scores.

In contrast, there was notable alignment in identifying the worst pizza chains. These five establishments garnered attention in 24/7 Wall St. survey for consistently low rankings across the board.

The only Chuck E. Cheese restaurant in Idaho is in Boise and I know people who have traveled from Twin Falls to go there. But, most people go there for the party and it just happens that they serve pizza there too.
