Twin Falls Rock Paper Scissors Battle Will Be A Smashing Good Time
Once again, there’s going to be a sanctioned battle in downtown Twin Falls. Hands will fly and only one will come out victorious. Kind of like the Highlander but nobody is going to lose their heads.
Ro Sham Bo In Twin Falls
The Twin Falls Rock Paper Scissors Tournament of Champions for 2023 will take place on June 1st at the Twin Falls Commons in downtown. Food trucks and fun will begin at 5 pm and the battle of the hands will start at 6. Everyone from the community is invited to attend and watch. This year, there will be 64 contestants battling in a single-elimination tournament, playing the best out of 3 hands each round and fighting for money to give to the charities of their choice. This year, there will be 2 additional prizes besides the awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3 place. There will be a 4th place winner and a prize for the Best Champion Introduction. These new awards will bring an additional $17,000 to the charities.
As the contestants enter the stage, they will choose an entrance song and are encouraged to dress in fun costumes. Last year, the event was a huge success and tons of fun for everyone who attended. First Federal gave away a cooler full of prizes, Music Magic Events brought the music and a photo booth, and contestants came dressed in amazing costumes and many threw out swag to the crowd. Check out the recap video from the event:
As the competitors get ready to reveal their battle hand, the crowd will chant ‘Ro Sham Bo - Throw’ and the fists of fury will fly. The rules of Rock Paper Scissors are simple. Players get to choose between a rock, paper, or scissors hand symbol. Players must reveal their choice at the same time and must choose one of the 3 designated symbols. A false throw or unapproved symbol results in a loss for that player. When hand symbols are revealed, paper beats rock, rock beats scissors, and scissors beat paper. If both players show the same choice, they must throw hands again until there is a winner.
