Show Off Your Costumed Pets in the Halloween Pet Photo Contest
It is time again to show off your pets as they celebrate and enjoy the change in seasons. The fall colors, cool weather, and pet costumes are inevitable.
When you put your pet in an adorable (or hilarious) costume or catch them playing in the leaves, send us a picture for your chance to win prizes.
Get Us a Picture of Your Pet For the Halloween Pet Photo Contest
Your pets could be in a costume or in the backyard surrounded by fall colors; either way, get a good picture and send it to us. Remember, this is a contest, so don’t send us a screenshot or a blurry photo where your pet looks more like Bigfoot in the wild, unless that’s the costume look you’re going for. This is also a contest for your pets, not your human babies, so make sure your fur babies are the only animals in the picture.
But fur babies aren’t the only eligible pets. If you have a bat, a lizard, or some type of bird as a pet, you can get a Fall or Halloween-themed picture and send it to us.
What Are the Rules and Best Practices For Submitting a Photo
The contest isn’t complicated; we just need a good picture of your pet, but there are some things you can do to better your chances of being picked as a finalist. Check out this list and look through the finalists from last year in the gallery below for inspiration to see what pictures made the cut.
- For starters, make sure your picture includes a Fall or Halloween theme, or it won’t make the cut.
- Your picture needs to include your pet (yes, we have received petless pictures before) and can’t include any humans, human body parts, or adorable tiny humans. We know your kids are cute, but this contest is about the pets. We also don't want to see your toes in the pictures. Gross.
- There’s no limit to what you call a pet (as long as it isn't a human). If you have a dog or a cat, cool. But if you have something different, like a horse, lizard, kangaroo, or exotic fish, we want to see those pets too.
- Make sure that your picture is of good quality. We don’t want screenshots from your phone; emojis or text added to the photo will be disqualified, and blurry action shots won’t make the cut. This is a photo contest.
- The pet has to belong to you. You can’t take your neighbor’s pet or a cute dog from the animal shelter, snap a picture, and call it yours.
- You must submit your picture using the submission form below to be eligible for the contest.
