Growing up, there was only one beverage we'd have with Thanksgiving (& Christmas) dinner: Martinelli's non-alcoholic sparkling cider. It was also served in all of our family weddings. Don't get me wrong, I love the stuff. I found out you can get a case of it at Costco, so I've got that going for me. Which is nice.

But I was really curious if people have cocktails for Thanksgiving dinner and if there are any seasonal recipes. Turns out, being a drunk is a trade. I kid, I kid. But I found some awesome ideas you may want to try!

1. Apple cider mimosas (2-ingredient)

This one is simple enough and looks delicious. All you need is champagne and your favorite apple cider. Slice an apple for garnish if you're feeling fancy.

I really want to try this one since I'm a big fan of mules & pumpkin spice seems to be the do-it-all for the fall season.
For two drinks, you'll want 1/2 cups of pumpkin pie vodka, 1/4 cup of apple cider, one 12 ounce can or bottle of ginger beer. Put some ice in there, as well. Vodka and cider goes in the copper mugs first, then the ginger beer. Garnish it with cinnamon sticks and/or pumpkin spice.

Drink this for the Thanksgiving everyone else will want to forget. Now, this is all going into a punch bowl. It's a community drink. You'll need two bottles of red wine, 4 cups of ginger ale, 3 cups of cranberry juice, 2/3 cups of Fireball, 2/3 cups of whiskey, 2 cups of frozen cranberries, 1 orange (sliced), and one apple (sliced). Stir it up like a punch and enjoy. Should serve at least 8.

You may remember this drink as the cocktail everyone else makes fun of J.D. for ordering in Scrubs. Truth is, it's delicious. To prep, you'll want to put your martini glass in the freezer to chill it. Using your shaker, mix 1 & 1/2 ounces of vodka, 1 ounce of apple schnapps, and 1/2 ounce of calvados with ice. Pour into your now-chilled martini glass and garnish that beauty with a green apple slice.

For those that like it old-school, but with a seasonal twist. For this modern classic, you'll want to: stir 1/2 cup of ice, 2/3 cups of apple cider, and two ounces of whiskey (Jack Daniels would be great), two dashes of Angostura bitters in your glass. If you'd like to garnish it, you can use cinnamon sticks and apple slices.

Happy Thanksgiving! Try not to embarrass yourself in front of your in-laws.
