Almost 3,000 CSI Employees Compromised In Email Scam
Some email scams are obvious. No, you didn't just inherit $1 Million from the long lost king of Nairobi. You also aren't going to have local police show up at your door in 10 minutes if you don't pay some fine you've never heard of. The email scam that just went through CSI was much more believable.
Last week, an email went out to a CSI employee asking for W-2 info for nearly 3,000 CSI employees. The email appeared to be from a CSI administrator, but it wasn't.
KMVT reported that CSI President Jeff Fox said in a message to employees that there was no evidence that this incident involves any unauthorized access to or use of any of the college’s computer systems or network and no further information about any employee or student was provided to any unauthorized individual.
