In a time where it seems that things are changing and evolving and closing by the hour, yesterday Amazon announced it's hiring 100,000 new workers throughout the country, according to The Los Angeles Times. Amazon will also increase pay by $2 an hour for hourly workers until the end of April.

“We are seeing a significant increase in demand, which means our labor needs are unprecedented for this time of year,” said Dave Clark, the head of Amazon’s warehouse and delivery network. As you could probably guess, Amazon has experienced a surge of orders lately and has told customers to expect that it could take longer than two days to fulfill them. Noted for when I'm panic ordering on Prime.

The jobs the company are hiring for are both part-time and full-time jobs doing everything from delivery driving to packing and shipping orders. If workers get coronavirus or must be quarantined, Amazon also said it would give them up to two weeks pay.

Amazon is currently the second-largest employer in the United States, employing about 800,000 people. And in a time where people's jobs are uncertain, a company thriving and hiring will be a huge blessing to many.

I've already got an Amazon order started up and ready to hit send after seeing what I can or can't find out in the world when I hit some stores after work today. Thanks, Amazon.
