EDEN, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) - For the second time in two weeks, a vehicle grazed the underside of an overpass. Around 2:30 p.m Tuesday afternoon, the Idaho Transportation Department was called out to a truck pulling an excavator. The vehicle was traveling northbound on Valley Road, north of Interstate 84, when the top of the heavy equipment machinery they were towing connected with the bottom of the overpass. The trailer was marked with an over-sized load banner. Maintenance Coordinator Shawn Webb from the ITD said, "Determined that it is cosmetic damage and we will have no need to close traffic on the top of the overpass." An Idaho State Police trooper wants to remind everyone to double check the equipment being towed. Webb said incidents where something collides with an overpass normally happen twice a year.
