While seeing fighter jets over Twin Falls and all around the Magic Valley and Southern Idaho isn’t an odd event due to the proximity of Mountain Home Airforce Base and its constant training exercises: seeing a Blue Angel in the area is uncommon.

Yet this afternoon, January 14th at 12:30, the Blue Angels F/A-18 #7 flew over Twin Falls and landed at the Magic Valley Regional Airport and I was there to see it.

If you missed it, the jet will be at the airport until Wednesday morning when the pilots leave around 7. It’s on display on the tarmac behind the Reeder Jet Center and you can see it through the chain link fence.

Why is There a Blue Angels Jet in Twin Falls Right Now?

Blue Angel #7, piloted by Maj. Scott Laux and Lcdr Lilly Montana landed in Twin Falls as part of the preparations for the upcoming Magic Valley Airshow on August 16th and 17th. The 2 pilots are here to check on the event plans, facilities, and preparations.

Who Will Be At The 2025 Magic Valley Airshow

As if the Blue Angels coming to the Magic Valley isn’t enough, the airshow is packed with other amazing performers. Notably, one of the most high-tech jets in the world will be in Twin Falls. The F-35A demo team will show off their skill and the amazing capabilities of the F-35A. The F-35 comes in a B version that can perform vertical takeoff and landing. The A version, which will be part of the show in Twin Falls, is the model that uses a conventional runway for takeoff and landing. There is also a C variant for aircraft carrier use.

Places To Get Really High Around Twin Falls

Since marijuana is still illegal in Idaho, you can’t legally walk down the street and get high, but there's another way to get high around Twin Falls that is much more socially acceptable.
