Canyon Ridge High School in Twin Falls, Idaho, went into lockdown on Wednesday morning around 11:30.

A message from the school was sent out to parents just before noon saying the lockdown was due to an apparent swatting report. Emergency responders arrived on the scene to verify the threats and ensure the safety of students and faculty.

The call reportedly came in at 11:40 on a non-emergency line. A male with a thick accent claimed he was in a bathroom at the school with a gun.

Law enforcement has checked all buildings and verified that the school is safe. They will continue to investigate the swatting report.

Earlier today, at approximately 1140 hours, a phone call was received by the Twin Falls City Communication Center on a non-emergency line. The male caller claimed to be in a bathroom on campus and that he had a gun. The caller spoke with a thick accent and was unable to provide dispatch with coherent information.

In response to this call, dispatch contacted Canyon Ridge High School and requested a lockdown as a precautionary measure. Officers responded promptly to the school and coordinated with the school administration to ensure the safety of all students and staff.

After a thorough search, it was confirmed that there was no threat present on campus. We want to extend our gratitude to the staff and students at Canyon Ridge High School for their quick and composed response to the situation.

We remain committed to ensuring the safety and security of our community and will continue to work closely with local schools to maintain a safe environment for all.
