Just short of its fourth year in the struggling shopping center, Charlotte Russe will close its doors for good.

Shoppers visiting the clothing store's online store on Wednesday night were shocked to see that all items had been pulled and replaced by a message reading "Our online store has closed. Going out of business. Sale starts March 7. All Stores. All sales final." Many knew the brand was struggling when they filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last month, but at the time they only planned to close 94 locations.  As far as we know, the Boise Towne Square Mall location that opened in March 2015 seemed to be safe from the planned closures.

However, a month later the retailer has decided to close more than 500 of their stores and outlets. According to one employee at the Boise Towne Square Mall location, they were made aware that the store was closing ahead of the announcement.

Charlotte Russe joins a growing list of retailers who've gone out of business at Boise Towne Square Mall over the past few years.  Other retailers who've called it quits over the past decade include Borders, Wet Seal, Idaho Camera, Gymboree, Crazy 8, Mongolian BBQ and most recently Sears.

Many attribute the death of American shopping malls to an increase in online shopping.  For stores like Borders and Idaho Camera, it that makes sense.  When you're ordering a book, journal or electronic sometimes it's far more convenient to order with one click and have it show up at your door.

But clothing stores? It blows my mind that they're going under due to online shopping.  Personally, I have to try on a piece of clothing to make sure it fits right before I shell out the money for it.  Ordering online and shipping it back if it doesn't fit? That's just too much work. The only place I'm comfortable ordering clothes online from is Stitch Fix and even that took one "fix" of having nothing in the box fit me for my stylist to find my perfect size.

I'm bummed to see Charlotte Russe close because it was one of the few stores where I could easily find clothes that fit me right. Per the website's announcement, liquidation sales begin March 7.
