Comment Period Extended on South Hills Closure Proposals
The public will get more time to comment on proposed changes to seasonal road closures in the South Hills as federal managers have extended the comment period.
The U.S. Forest Service Minidoka Ranger District announced the extension of the comment period to November 30, of this year to allow the public more time to provide input to the South Hills Seasonal Closures Project. The proposal would change existing seasonal road closures on specific areas located in the South Hills during the month of October.
The Forest Service is working with the Idaho Department of Fish and Game on the proposals. People can go to the Sawtooth Schedule of Proposed Actions site to comment, or send and email to comments-intermtn-sawtooth-minidoka@fs.fed.us, and make sure to put "South Hills Seasonal Closures Project" in the subject line. An Open House on the proposals will also be held on November 14, a Thursday, at the Sawtooth National Forest Supervisors Office, 370 American Avenue, Jerome, Idaho from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 (noon) and from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
