Famous National Park Near Idaho Now Requires Reservations
People from all around the world love visiting the National Parks scattered around the United States. And that love leads to increased visitors each year and the influx of tourists can be an issue.
Because of that, some National Parks have been forced to require reservations for entry to control the number of visitors. One of the latest is a National Park near Idaho.
Popular National Park Near Idaho Will Require Reservations This Year
The great state of Washington has 3 National Parks (15 if you include historic parks, reserves, sites, geologic trails, and recreation areas) in Mount Rainier, North Cascades, and Olympic.
This year, Mount Rainier National Park is requiring timed entry reservations for visitors. The change applies to the Paradise and Sunrise corridors in the summer of 2024.

The timed entry requirement for Mount Rainier is due to an increase of 40 percent in visitors over the last 10 years. Overcrowding can cause damage to the fragile ecosystem. According to the National Park Service website, timed entry reservations are required at the following times:
(1) Paradise Corridor coming from the southwest (near Ashford, WA) or southeast (near Packwood, WA), and (2) Sunrise Corridor coming from the northeast (via Enumclaw, WA) from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. Each corridor requires a separate vehicle reservation. Timed entry reservations are for good a single day, per vehicle, and are required in addition to an entrance fee or park pass.
The NPS website also includes a FAQ section for those with questions.
