David Lee Roth to Support KISS on Final North American Tour Leg [Update]
Update: The Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana has stated that Roth has been added as a special guest for the Feb. 16 date of KISS' "End of the Road" tour in the city. "David Lee Roth will bring his exciting stage show featuring a twin guitar big rock sound and a set list of classic hits and future energy," the Memorial Coliseum said in statement to Blabbermouth.
Reports are surfacing this week that singer David Lee Roth will serve as the opening act for KISS on the group's upcoming 2020 North American leg of their "End of the Road" farewell world tour.
That's what Ultimate Classic Rock noted Tuesday (Dec. 17) after rock reporter Mitch Lafon shared an image the previous day purporting to show proof of the dual-pronged lineup. See the image down toward the bottom of this post. Is Diamond Dave set to rock out with KISS in the new year?
"Sources are seemingly confirming that this is legitimate and that David Lee Roth will open the band's summer US dates," Lafon shared on Twitter Monday (Dec. 16). "Thanks to Live Nation for the tip."
The Van Halen vocalist has a Las Vegas residency booked for January and March. KISS' 2020 tour dates kick off in February and continue throughout the end of the year. Apparently, searches on Live Nation's official app are showing Roth as the opening act at numerous stops of the tour.
KISS' 2019 dates proved to be some of the highest-grossing concerts across North America, as concert trade publication Pollstar revealed this week. But last month, the band had to cancel some Australian shows when Paul Stanley contracted the flu. Get KISS concert tickets here.
