The Twin Falls High School Class of '75 is continuing restoration efforts of the bruin statue that used to be located in the front entry of Twin Falls High School.

The Twin Falls bruin statue has been in storage after it was removed from the school foyer several years ago after it began showing signs of age. As you can see by these pictures, the bear was missing part of its back foot, its tongue and some teeth and it was in need of a paint job to cover up chips and graffiti.

After several months of work, the committee has completely repaired the bruin by replacing missing fiberglass pieces, injecting it with foam to reinforce the formerly hollow stature and giving it a fresh coat of paint.

Next, the Class of 75 plans of having the bruin placed into a glass enclosure so that it can be returned to Twin Falls High School foyer. The glass enclosure is expected to help preserve the bruin for an extended period of time as well as discourage vandalism.

The expected cost to build the enclosure is about $6,500 and the committee is currently raising funds and accepting donations from those who want to help.

The Twin Falls High School class of '75 is hosting a yard sale this weekend to help raise funds to finish the Twin Falls bruin restoration project.  There will be TVs and electronics up for sale as well as antique furniture. There will be T-shirts for sale with proceeds going to the project as well.

The sale is Friday and Saturday, June 19 & 20 at a residence at 422 Blue Lakes Blvd from 8:00am - 5:00pm both days.

You can call Gale Carlock at 208-293-8984 if you have any items you'd like to donate to the sale or if you'd like to make a donation.
