Idaho State Police responded to 2 separate serious injury accidents in Southern Idaho on Wednesday. One involved a female pedestrian hit by a car while she was out jogging with a friend and the other involved a car hitting a semi truck on the highway.

Both accidents are being investigated by Idaho State Police.

Fatal Car Accident Wednesday Afternoon in Idaho

A fatal collision accident happened Wednesday afternoon in Idaho Falls on US-20 at milepost 308, near Fremont Ave.

A 21-year-old man from Rexburg was driving westbound on US20 in a 2008 Ford Mustang. A 43-year-old man from Moore was driving eastbound on US20 in a 2015 Freightliner pulling a propane trailer. The Ford Mustang drove across the median and into the eastbound lanes colliding with the Freightliner. Both vehicles became engulfed in flames and were put out by the Idaho Falls Fire Department. The driver of the Ford Mustang succumbed to his injuries at scene. The driver of the Freightliner was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital.

As of this writing, the eastbound traffic is still blocked on US-20. ISP are being assisted at the scene of the accident by the Idaho Falls Police and Fire Departments, Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office, and the Idaho Transportation Department.

Female Jogger Hit By a Car in Idaho Wednesday

Early on Wednesday morning at about 5:44 AM, near the Fairview Golf Course in Caldwell north of Logan Street on 10th Ave, Idaho State Police responded to a vehicle vs pedestrian accident.

A 37-year-old male, from Caldwell, was traveling northbound on 10th Ave in a 2016 Ford Focus. Two female pedestrians were jogging southbound on the right shoulder of the northbound lane of 10th Ave. The vehicle crossed over the fog line and struck a 43-year-old female, from Marsing, who was jogging in the bike lane.

The driver of the Focus was wearing a seatbelt and did not report any injury at the time, the female jogger was taken to a local hospital.
