Grocery Outlet Store Closures: What Does it Mean for Idaho Locations?
In early March, the bargain market chain Grocery Outlet held a financial earnings call. The results weren’t great, but it wasn’t all bad news for the discount grocery chain. During the call, mistakes were noted and addressed, and a plan to do better in the future was announced.
Part of the plan included closing three dozen stores across the nation. The majority of those stores were along the East Coast, but three of the announced closures were stores in Idaho. Those stores closed last month, leaving more than a dozen Grocery Outlet stores still open in the Gem State.
Grocery Outlet Just Closed 3 Stores in Idaho, What Does it Mean for the Remaining Locations

A Post Falls location opened recently, and the Grocery Outlet website lists Idaho as one of the states with growth locations available.

The owners of the upcoming Kuna stores shared a social media post with an update on the location construction. There is no grand opening date yet.
So, while Grocery Outlet did close 36 stores, they did so after realizing they had expanded too quickly in some areas - the closures do not mean more stores will close, and that they aren’t continuing to expand and invest in Idaho communities.
