2 Idaho Hunters Found a Big Bear Hiding in a Small Hole

It isn't a surprise to find a bear in a cave, since that's where we expect them to be. But it does seem odd that these Idaho hunters stumbled across a bear in a hole in the ground in the middle of nowhere.

If you wander around Idaho, it isn't uncommon to find large holes in the ground. Many are due to the lava tubes running all around Southern Idaho. Other holes are dug by animals, and usually, that means a rockchuck, snake, or rabbit. In this case, it was a bear hiding in the hole and it's pretty surprising when you see it in the TikTok video.

The TikTok video from kaleb_young27 starts off with the hunting version of 'hold my beer' as one guy says 'this is not smart'. The duo of hunters then approaches a hole in the ground that you could easily miss among the sagebrush and rocks. After a moment the camera is able to focus on the darkness in the hole. That's when you see a sleepy-looking bear head peering up at them.

My family goes on a lot of adventures around Idaho and sometimes those adventures are in terrain just like this video shows. I never would have expected to see a bear on one of our walks through the desert. Now, I'm going to have to be extra vigilant when we go out.

I'd also recommend that if you do come across a bear in a hole like these guys did, that you don't return to the hole to film it. As the guy said in the video, it's 'not smart'.
