The Idaho State Police reported two accidents in Idaho on Monday morning. One was a fatal accident where a truck overturned in a river, and the other seriously injured a juvenile on an ATV after he struck an SUV.

A separate fatal rollover accident into a body of water was also reported in Gooding County over the weekend.

Fatal Rollover Accident Into Idaho River Reported By Idaho State Police

Idaho State Police responded to a rollover accident in eastern Idaho on US 93 in Lemhi County around 9:45 AM. Police arrived to find an overturned vehicle in the Salmon River.

  • An 82-year-old male from Salmon was traveling northbound on US 93 in a 1999 GMC Sierra pickup.
  • The driver lost control of the pickup on the icy roads.
  • The pickup went off the north side of the road, overturning into the Salmon River

The driver of the truck was the only occupant in the vehicle and was wearing a seatbelt, but passed away at the scene of the accident.

Juvenile Seriously Injured in ATV vs SUV Accident in Idaho

In western Idaho, ISP responded to a crash between a juvenile on an ATV and an SUV on State Highway 51 near mile marker 64, a few minutes before noon. The juvenile was not wearing a helmet when the crash happened.

  • A 63-year-old male of Boise was driving a 2026 Ford Explorer southbound.
  • A juvenile was driving a Honda ATV and struck the Ford Explorer.

The juvenile was taken by air ambulance to a local hospital. The report does not state if the driver of the SUV required any medical attention.

Both accidents are being investigated by the Idaho State Police.
