
Fiery Pickup Truck Crash Claims the Life of a Driver in Southern Idaho
A head-on collision between two pickup trucks on a Southern Idaho highway took the life of one driver and sent another driver to the hospital by air ambulance.
Idaho State Police are investigating the accident that happened on Saturday afternoon in Elmore County on Interstate 84. The crash happened on November 8th at approximately 2:12 in the afternoon on I-84 near milepost 110, which is about halfway between Twin Falls and Boise.
Male Truck Driver Killed in Fiery Southern Idaho Highway Collision
The ISP report states:
- A white Ram Dually pickup towing a travel trailer, driven by a 55-year-old male from Canton, Texas, was driving eastbound on Interstate 84.
- A tan 1995 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 29-year-old male from Garden City, Idaho, was driving westbound on Interstate 84.
- The driver of the Ram departed from his lane into oncoming traffic, which resulted in a head-on collision.
The crash caused both vehicles to become engulfed in flames.
The driver of the Chevrolet passed away at the scene of the accident, and the driver of the Dodge was taken by air ambulance to a local hospital.
The accident is being investigated by ISP.

There have been a number of fiery car accidents in Idaho this year. The most recent involved 2 teens driving at a high rate of speed and colliding with a liquor store.
An RV from Utah caught fire on an Idaho highway on October 29th. On August 24th, a vehicle fire in Benewah County claimed the life of a young passenger and seriously injured the adult driver. A vehicle fire in mid-April was also reported by ISP. That crash involved three vehicles, two of which collided head-on and caught fire. One driver was killed in that accident.
