Another Child Predator Arrested in Idaho, This Time From Twin Falls

The Department of Justice of the United States Attorney’s Office in Idaho has announced that another child predator has been sentenced for child sexual abuse crimes.

In a press release from the DOJ, we learn that Shane Pruett, a 42-year-old male from Twin Falls, was sentenced to 78 months in federal prison, an additional 15 years of supervised release, and Pruett was ordered to ‘pay $15,000 in restitution to victims in the images he possessed’. Pruett will also be required to register as a sex offender.

Homeland Security Investigations began looking at Pruett after a tip was received from Reddit. It was determined that an account belonging to Pruett had posted child sexual abuse material on the popular internet site, Reddit.

Besides the content on his Reddit account (which included pictures and messages expressing his sexual interest in children), Pruett was in possession of 2 cell phones, a tablet, and a laptop computer with child sexual abuse material.

Homeland Security Investigation worked with the Twin Falls Police Department on the case. According to online records, the case against Pruett began in September of 2023.

A few days ago it was also announced that 2 men had been sentenced for crimes related to possession of child sexual abuse material and that another had been indicted for similar crimes.

Police have also been searching for a cross-dressing man in Idaho who is wanted in Florida for crimes related to minors.
