Idaho Police Investigating 2 Deadly Motorcycle Accidents
It was a tragic and deadly weekend on Idaho roads as Idaho State Police reported 3 separate fatal accidents.
All 3 accidents happened Saturday in separate parts of the state and took the lives of 4 adults and 2 juveniles.
2 Fatal Motorcycle Accidents in Idaho Over the Weekend
Two of the fatal accidents involved motorcycles. One was a single-vehicle crash and the other involved a motorcycle hitting a car.
ISP are investigating the fatal single-vehicle motorcycle crash that happened Saturday, April 13th around 5:23 PM in Idaho County. The accident happened on US12 near mile post 163 in north Idaho.
A black 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by a 68-year-old male from Stevensville, MT, was traveling east bound on US12 when he left the roadway and went down an embankment and collided with trees.
The rider was wearing a helmet but was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other fatal motorcycle crash happened in Pocatello, also on April 13th, around 2:30 PM on US91 near mile marker 13.
A 64-year-old female with a 66-year-old male passenger, both from Fruit Heights, Utah were traveling northbound on US91 in a 2011 BMW X3.
A 2009 Yamaha motorcycle, ridden by a 60-year-old male from Preston was driving northbound on US91 when it struck the BMW as it was slowing to turn.
The motorcycle rider died at the scene. Both accidents are being investigated by the Idaho State Police.
2 Kids Killed in Car Crash With Train in Idaho
A 3rd tragic accident in Idaho happened Saturday that took the lives of 2 adults and 2 kids. The 4 people were killed when their vehicle was struck by a train in Canyon County on US20 at milepost 17 around 8:20 in the morning.
The driver of a Chevrolet Silverado was traveling on a private road that intersected a railroad crossing. The driver failed to yield and was struck by an oncoming train. The pickup was occupied by a 38-year-old male, a 36-year-old female, and two juveniles, all from Nampa. All occupants succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The female passenger was wearing her seatbelt.
The accident is under investigation and the Canyon County Coroner is working to notify the next of kin. Names of the deceased will not be released.
