
Twin Falls, ID K-9 Retires After 8 Years With Massive Crime-Fighting Stats
An Idaho State Police K-9 recently retired, and the stats on her crime-fighting career are staggering. Kali served with the Idaho State Police for eight years, racking up nearly 200 arrest assists, more than 600 deployments, hundreds of pounds of drugs sniffed out, hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash, and more than a dozen guns.
The Idaho State Police already has a replacement K-9 who has been training, passing certifications, and is now officially on duty in The Magic Valley.
This Retired Police Dog Helped Catch 186 Criminals in Idaho
Kali served in the Twin Falls area for eight years with her handlers, Troopers Marrott and Howard. Now that she’s retired, she’ll spend the rest of her days with her original handler, Trooper Marrott.
The crime-fighting story of Kali began in 2017 when she became part of the Idaho State Police. During that time, she served in the Twin Falls area. Her list of achievements, according to the Idaho State Police report, proves she played a significant role in Southern Idaho:
- 398.5 pounds of marijuana
- 3.8 pounds of heroin
- 5.1 pounds of cocaine
- 34.8 pounds of methamphetamine
- 10.9 pounds of fentanyl
- $222,981 in U.S. currency
- 16 firearms

The replacement pup for Kali has already begun the work of fighting crime in the Twin Falls area. Cru is working alongside Trooper Howard, locating illegal narcotics and supporting with investigations around Southern Idaho.
The Idaho State Police shared a video montage of some of Kali’s greatest achievements, which included mountains of bags of drugs and stacks of cash.
