
100 Deadliest Days in Idaho Begin With 1 Fatality and 6 Injured in Accidents
The 100 Deadliest Days of Summer in Idaho began over the Memorial Day Weekend and included 3 accidents reported by the Idaho State Police.
Among the 3 reported accidents were 1 fatality, 6 people who reported injuries, and 1 who didn’t require aid. Four of the people were from Mexico, 1 from Utah, and 3 from Idaho.
2 From Mexico Involved in Fatal Crash on Idaho Road Over Memorial Day Weekend
The fatal accident reported by ISP happened on May 25th around 6:30 in the morning. The accident was a single-vehicle crash near the Dry Lake Road and Bowmont Road intersection in Canyon County.
Details from the Idaho State Police report include:
A red 2008 Nissan Armada, driven by a 36-year-old male with a 19-year-old male passenger, both from Mexico, was traveling westbound on Bowmont Road.
The driver failed to stop at a stop sign, where the vehicle left the roadway and came to rest in an embankment.
Neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt when the accident happened. The driver died at the scene, and the passenger was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
Utah Driver Injured in Accident With Semi Truck on Idaho Highway
Idaho State Police responded to an accident between an SUV and a semi-truck on May 24th on US-26 in Bonneville County. The crash happened a few minutes before 2:40 PM at mile marker 386, according to the police report:
A 46-year-old male from Farmington, Utah, was traveling westbound on US26 in a 2020 black GMC Yukon.
The Yukon crossed over the center line and collided with a semi-truck that was headed eastbound.
The driver of the semi-truck, a 44-year-old male from Idaho Falls, and his passengers, a 52-year-old female from Idaho Falls, and a juvenile…sustained minor injuries.
All occupants of both vehicles were wearing seatbelts. The driver of the Yukon required transport to the hospital by air ambulance.

Man and Woman from Mexico Involved in Rollover on Highway Near Twin Falls, ID
Also on May 24th, Idaho State Police reported an accident eastbound on I-84 near mile marker 183 a few minutes after 3 AM. ISP reported the following regarding the circumstances of the single-vehicle crash:
A grey 2013 Subaru Crosstrek was traveling westbound on I-84 when it left the roadway.
The driver overcorrected, lost control of the vehicle, and it overturned, coming to rest near E 990 S.
The driver, a 28-year-old man from Mexico, was wearing a seatbelt and did not require ambulance transport.
The passenger, a 27-year-old woman from Mexico, was not wearing a seatbelt and was transported by air ambulance to a local hospital.
Each accident in this story is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
