On December 14, 2015, Kristina Lakey and her son Gabriel were on their way home to visit family in Homedale, Idaho for Christmas. They were traveling northbound on highway 93 north of Hollister when they were struck head on by another driver. Gabriel was in his car seat and everyone in the vehicle was wearing a seat belt. Unfortunately, Gabriel did not survive the accident.

One death is too many and with many people from Idaho commuting to work in Jackpot, Nevada that road needs to be made safer

Kristina has created a petition requesting that the Idaho Department of Transportation do something to make highway 93 safer.

One death is too many and with many people from Idaho commuting to work in Jackpot Nevada that road needs to be made safer for those that drive it every day and those just passing through like my son and I were. Every life is precious and many of these deaths are preventable.

Kristina is asking for a reflective divider or something to make highway 93 safer. She's hoping for 1,000 signatures and is over half way there in reaching her goal. If you would like to sign her petition, you can do that here.
