There Are ReaIly 12 Seasons in Idaho, Utah, and Washington

Science recognizes the 4 seasons as winter, spring, summer, and fall and I’m no scientist. Here’s what I do know: mixed in with the 4 regular seasons are a variety of sub-seasons.

A few weeks ago, we went through the Spring of Deception, also known (by me, because I named it) as Winsprummall. It’s a short timeframe where we get all the seasons: WINter, SPRing, sUMMer, fALL.

Then it got cold again for a while, aka, Third Winter.

Now, as the trees bloom and it feels like real spring more each day, we have to first get through the worst season for those with allergies: The Pollenating.

The Pollenating can last a few weeks. You’ll know it’s here when the trees and flowers start blooming and your car gets covered in yellow dust every day. The graphic lists these seasons for Idaho, but we know they also happen in Washington and Utah at the same time.

Also, I blamed trees for The Pollenating, but other factors include grass, flowers, and ragweed.
