
5 People Injured, Including 3 Juveniles, in Head-on Crash in Idaho
A head-on collision between two vehicles in Southern Idaho sent three juveniles, a teen, and an adult to the hospital on Saturday afternoon. Police believe there was a third vehicle and driver that may have contributed to the crash, and Idaho State Police are investigating.
The accident happened near the Idaho and Oregon border, near the city of Payette, on a stretch of highway that is undergoing shoulder construction. More details on the accident can be found below.
Five People Injured, Including Three Juveniles, in Head-on Crash in Idaho
In the news release from the Idaho State Police, we learn that the crash happened on Saturday, May 9th, at 3:27 PM on US 95 at mile marker 72. The incident partially blocked traffic for around an hour and a half.
- A 2016 Jeep Renegade, driven by a 44-year-old male from Caldwell, was driving northbound on US95 when he swerved into the southbound lanes.
- A 2000 Honda Accord, driven by an 18-year-old male from Weiser with a juvenile passenger, was traveling southbound on US95.
- A 2020 Honda Ridgeline, driven by a 49-year-old male from Boise, with two juvenile passengers, was traveling northbound on US95.
- The Honda Accord swerved into the northbound lanes to avoid colliding with the Jeep.
The Accord and the Ridgeline hit head-on, injuring all occupants of both vehicles. The 18-year-old driver and juvenile passenger in the Accord were taken to a local hospital by air ambulance. The adult driver of the Ridgeline and the two juvenile passengers were taken by ground ambulance to the hospital.
The driver of the Jeep was not injured.

ISP also reported a box truck rollover accident on I90 in Northern Idaho, near Rose Lake. The driver of the truck was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
