1 Killed in Southern Idaho Propane Truck Rollover Accident
The Idaho State Police were called out to 2 separate single-vehicle accidents in the last 2 days.
One accident was fatal and the other resulted in a driver being taken to the hospital.
Male Driver Killed in Idaho After Propane Truck Rollover
Idaho State Police responded to a tragic fatality accident near Twin Falls on Thursday morning. The single-vehicle crash happened on US93 southbound near mile marker 52 in Jerome County at 9:18 AM.
A 56-year-old male, from Hagerman, was driving southbound in a 2021 Kenworth Propane Truck. The driver failed to maintain his lane and struck a guardrail before the vehicle went off the right shoulder and overturned multiple times. The driver was wearing his seatbelt and succumbed to his injuries at the time of the crash.
Due to the danger of the accident involving a propane truck, the area was evacuated and one lane was blocked for 2 and a half hours. The accident is being investigated by ISP.
A second single-vehicle accident was reported by ISP on Wednesday evening around 10 PM in Emmett. The crash happened at the intersection of East 12th Street and South Substation road.
The road was closed due to road construction at the intersection on Substation Rd and Highway 16. A Subaru Legacy, driven by a 41-year-old male from Idaho Falls, bypassed the road closure signs posted at the intersection of State Highway 16 and South Substation Rd.
The driver continued north on Substation Rd where the vehicle crashed into a large pile of dirt at the intersection of Substation Rd and E 12th St, where the vehicle came to a rest on the driver's side. The driver was transported via air ambulance to a nearby hospital.
The driver wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and the accident is being investigated by Idaho State Police.
