
Reckless Motorcycle Causes Multi Vehicle Accident in Southern Idaho
A serious injury accident happened on Tuesday afternoon in Southern Idaho on Interstate 84 involving a motorcycle and three other vehicles.
The Idaho State Police responded to the accident and believe that accident was caused by the motorcycle driver behaving recklessly.
Reckless Motorcycle Driver Believed to Be the Cause of Injury Accident in Southern Idaho
ISP believe the motorcycle driver was speeding in excess of 100 miles per hour, lane splitting on the highway, and hit three vehicles. The motorcycle, a green Kawasaki ZX600, was driven by a 25 year old male from the Treasure Valley.
The crash happened around 3PM on May 20th on I84 near milepost 43, according to the ISP report:
During the maneuver, the motorcycle struck three separate vehicles, causing a chain-reaction crash.
The rider, who was wearing a helmet, riding pants, and riding boots, sustained significant non-life-threatening injuries, including road rash and broken bones.
The motorcycle driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Occupants of the other vehicles (vehicle descriptions and occupants were not given in the report) didn’t report any serious injuries.
The motorcyclist was charged with reckless driving. The accident is under investigation by ISP.

Many have argued the benefits of allowing lane splitting, filtering, and sharing for motorcycles - but regardless of the argument, all three are illegal in Idaho.
