Santa, Lights, Trains & Cocoa; Boise Winter Garden Aglow Returns
One of the most popular holiday destinations in all of southern Idaho is about to start back up again. With bonfires, trains, hot cocoa, music, and more than 300,000 lights on display, this attraction has everything a Christmas enthusiast could ask for.
The annual Winter Garden Aglow is returning to the Botanical Gardens in Boise. The attraction is open to the public beginning the day after Thanksgiving Day, November 29, and will continue through January 4, 2020, according to the events link on the official Facebook page.
This is a family friendly, holiday event, that takes place annually at the garden's location, at 2355 Old Penitentiary Road. Advance tickets (adult) start at $10. Youth, ages 4-12, is $8 (members also) and three years and younger are free. If purchased day of, adult prices are $12, with youth (4-12) being $10.
There are currently 26 dates the Winter Garden Aglow will be open to the public between November 25 and January 4. All times are 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. For questions, call 208-343-8649. The botanical garden is located right next to the Old Idaho Penitentiary.
The event draws thousands every holiday season, and includes visits from area choirs with live performances. Military night, which is December 10, is open for all veterans and their families, and will be closed to the general public. The garden gift store will also be open during event hours for the purchasing of holiday goods. The event covers more than 14 acres on the botanical grounds.
