Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - Twin Falls Police were called to an assisted living facility around 5 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 where a male individual had reportedly barricaded himself in a vacant room.

When officers arrived at the Rosetta Assisted Living Center, located at 1177 Eastridge Court in Twin Falls, they found Anthony Raffaelli, 37, of Twin Falls, hiding. Officers removed Raffaelli from the facility without incident. No residents of the assisted living center were believed to be in any danger during the incident.

Raffaelli told officers that he ran into the assisted living center because two individuals had chased him from his home and were shooting at him. Raffaelli told officers that he shot at the subjects in self-defense. Raffaelli changed his statement several times during the course of the interview, so officers asked if they could search his residence for the subjects. Raffaelli consented to the search.

Officers did not find any unknown individuals at his residence, located at 1015 Lakewood. Officers spoke with a witness at the residence, who said that Raffaelli told them that morning that someone was hiding in a closet at the residence. The witness said that they searched the closet, and did not find anyone hiding in it. Raffaelli said he then fled the home on foot toward the assisted living center, while firing his weapon at subjects who he believed were chasing him.

A handgun and shell casings were found near the scene and placed into evidence.

Raffaelli was transported to St. Luke’s Magic Valley Hospital for treatment to minor bruises and abrasions. He was then transported to the Twin Falls County Jail on charges of unlawful discharge of a firearm and possession of a controlled substance. The incident is still under investigation.
